    Geography and Environment Info Session

Monday, January 26, 2026 at 6:00 PM until 6:45 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

The ‘Geography and Environment’ major at UNC–Chapel Hill explores how people, places, and environments are connected, from local communities in North Carolina to global change around the world. Our major combines social and natural science coursework with hands-on training in tools like GIS, remote sensing, social science methods, and mapping to study topics such as climate change, environmental justice, health, urban development, and environmental policy, and more. In this session, you’ll meet the Director of Undergraduate Studies and a current student, who will share insights about courses, research, and study abroad opportunities, and the many career paths our majors pursue, with time for your questions.
