All members of the University community are welcome to recommend candidates for admission, provided they know the candidates they are recommending and can provide insight into their individual achievements, potential, and circumstances.These recommendations become part of candidates’ files and are assessed as other recommendations are assessed. Under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act, enrolled students may have the right to inspect and review their education records, including any recommendation letters that those records may include.Under no circumstances should a recommender mention previous or potential donations to the University by a candidate or a candidate’s family. Any recommendation that mentions such a donation will neither be added to the candidate’s file nor reviewed by the admissions committee.* Required
